SANJH had worked for flood affected communities in district Muzaffargarh and with the collaboration of UN Habitat, TVO and HANDS/DFID implemented different activities for the local people of district Muzaffargarh and provided clean & safe drinking water by placing Hand Pumps in the areas, sanitation by providing healthy and hygienic environment through formation of Latrines/Washroom and shelter homes as well. SANJH also delivered awareness session with in collaboration of UN Habitat and conducted two days’ workshop on health and hygiene. Following is the detail of SANJH PAKISTAN activities on WASH.
SANJH has conducted series of activities (11-Session on health and hygiene, 08-hand wash activity, 07-awareness sessions) based on theme of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and engaged 1970-participants in the activities to aware them about a healthy & hygienic environment. SANJH has conducted following activities (Below are the details of activities.
SANJH team has conducted 11 sessions on health and hygiene in District Muzaffargarh and Kot Adu (Punjab) and engaged 740-participants in the activities. Representative of SANJH gave briefing to the participants about health & hygiene.
SANJH team has conducted Hand Wash activity in District Muzaffargarh (Punjab) and engaged 70-participants in the activities. SANJH team told benefits of washing hands to the participants as; Elimination of germs, Prevention from illness and to Keep ourselves healthy.
SANJH conducted an awareness session/activity entitled “Khana Khany se Pehly Sabun se Hath Dhona (A message by SANJH)” in district Muzaffargarh and Kot Adu (Punjab) and engaged 650 beneficiaries to aware them about how we can become safe from germs before eating any meal. Participants actively participated in the activity and children/students grab the message behind the activity and promised to make it their habit for washing hand with soap before taking any meal/food.
SANJH conducted an activity entitled “Washroom k baad sabun se hath Dhoen (A message by SANJH)”. It was an awareness session for children in schools and 510 students took part in the activity.
To provide some support to flood affected people of union council Murad Abad in shape of water facilities and water sanitation SANJH implemented a project (Flood Emergency Response 2014) with the support and funding of HANDS. SANJH has installed the 20 hand pumps in the flood affected areas in this project.
This project titled One Room Shelter (ORS) Program was supported by UNHABTAT, this project focused on two thematic areas simultaneously. First component was Rehabilitation & the second component was WASH.
SANJH has successfully constructed 300 Latrines in Mouza Perhar Sharqi and Moza Talai Chandrar Tehsil Kot Addu District Muzaffargarh with Donation of National Donor (Trust for Voluntary Organization) TVO Funding in 2005- 2006.
